Hello everyone! Have you heard about the movie “ The boy who harnessed the wind” ? If the answer is no, through his article I will help you to get to know the worth of the movie.

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is a 2019 British drama film based on a true life story of a boy named Will Kamkwamba born in Kasungu, Malawi.

In this movie based on a true story, a boy lives in a rural and poor village filled with uneducated people but still he has a strong desire to attend the school in order to get educated. His family is poor and has difficulties in paying for his school. Under his circumstances, he also can become an ordinary farmer just like others in the village but he desires to go beyond that normality and get educated through school. Due to his parents’ inability to pay for school, he is informed several times to drop out of the school but it doesn’t discourage him. And also he doesn’t blame his parents for not paying his fee instead he understands their situation. The boy always tries to find new things. He finds something new and innovative in every little thing he sees. His specialty is that he always observes his surrounding well with curiosity to learn something new. His desire to get educated and his curiosity about the surrounding motivates me a lot.

The boy explores new things with his friends and he encourages them to develop innovative ideas. Even though he is banned from attending the school he goes to library and tries to learn on his own. When he comes up with problems he goes to a resource person and asks for information. If that person also doesn’t have a solution for his problem, he goes through books and try until he finds an answer for his problem. He always puts in to practice what he learnt instead of just memorizing them to sit for the examination. His determination and interest to learn can motivate people to achieve their goals.

Even though he is not a grown up, he understands the problem and situation of his villages. He realizes that government or any other person would not give them a solution and they have to find the solution on their own. Without blaming the government or without waiting for others to bring solutions, he starts to act on his own. He starts to find a solution for the problem prevailing in the village. To achieve your educational goals, you are the one who has to work hard, he gives off this exemplary idea through his actions which motivates me in self learning.

Although he achieves his dream, his father doesn’t agree to support him but he doesn’t get discouraged instead he make it a blessing and work more. His father rejects him saying that his work is useless to others. Instead of a compliment he is threatened to stop doing meaningless things. Despite of what others say he continues his work to provide water for the fields using wind power. His ability to maintain his courage regardless of what others say and the way he believes in himself encourages me to believe in myself.

On top of everything he lacks resources. He finds most of resources for his researches from a junkyard filled with broken and abandoned cars. An ordinary child will definitely give up even before the beginning but he searches everywhere and go through hardships but finally, however finds what he wants. His quality of not giving up motivates me to never give up on my goals.

“After I drop out from school I went to library and I read a book titled using energy and I get information about wind mill and I try and I made it” — Will Kamkwamba
